Selling Information For Fun and Profit

Selling information can easily be described as the most
exciting and rewarding business any entrepreneur can
or ever will be involved with.
Multi-Millions of dollars worth of information are
sold every single day throughout the world. Are you
taking part? Have you decided to become an
Infopreneur?
If you look at the major success stories online...
almost without fail every single one of the them
sells Information in one format or another. They
are Infopreneurs on the Information Superhighway
(I define an Infopreneur as an entrepreneur who
sells information).
If you stop a minute and think you will also realize
that the wealthiest man on the planet, Bill Gates,
is an infopreneur. He creates software, which is an
information product, and has become so successful
at doing this that almost every computer on the
planet comes equipped with HIS software.
What are the benefits of being an Infopreneur:
1) It has a Low Start-up cost.
It costs next to nothing to start an information
business. If you want to start a franchise, you
have to spend as much as $600,000 or more just
for the rights to get started. You can get
started in your own information business for
much less than $1,000.
2) It has low inventory costs.
You can keep little or no inventory. Many
Infopreneurs become their own "Publishing Bakery."
This means that they keep a very small amount of
inventory on hand at any moment. When they
receive an order, they print it out, copy it, or
package it up. They MAKE their product when the
orders come in.
3) It is easy to Ship and deal with.
Information products are easy to ship and deal
with. They rarely get damaged in shipping and
usually have a low weight and shipping cost
involved with them. They can easily be sent
anywhere in the world. Plus with the growth of
the internet, it is even becoming easier because
many products can be made available to your
customers online the SAME DAY as they order
without any shipping cost involved.
4) It has a High Mark-up.
Information products have a high mark-up because
people are not paying for the format things are
delivered in. They are paying for the valuable
information which is contained inside.
Therefore, actual production costs are not
relevant and can not be applied when dealing
with these types of products.
5) It can be used as a lead generator.
No matter what type of business you are in,
you can produce an information product which
is used as a lead generator. Thousands of
consultants in all different fields have
found that once they packaged up their
knowledge and experience in an information
product it could be sold and bring in even
more business for their other services. You
can do the same type of thing. Do a product
in your field and sell it to bring in MORE
business for your other products or services.
The easiest business to get started in on the
internet is selling information. Now, let's
take the next step and show you exactly how
to get started.
The title of this article says that I am
going to show you how YOU can quickly and
easily get into your own publishing business.
I am going to do exactly that right now.
Below are the three Ways you can get started
TODAY in your own information publishing
business:
1) Become a Dealer for other people's
products.
This is the cheapest route in most cases...
in both time and monetary expense. You can
get started as a dealer today and pay
anywhere from $0 to $495 for the rights
to sell dozens of products. The advantage
is that it is low cost and you could get
started this evening.
There are thousands of dealer and affiliate
programs available across the net. You can
check out http://www.associateprograms.com/
for information on many of them. Choose to
sell exactly what you want and get started
this evening.
The disadvantage of becoming a dealer for
other people's products is that you are
severely limited in your income potential.
Most dealer programs only offer you 10%
to 50% (Most of the 50% ones also cost
hundreds of dollars to join) of the
profits on your sales. This can be a
problem because you have to pay for the
advertising! Many people find that
although they make money as a dealer, it
is nowhere near what they make through
the other two options below.
2) Create Your Own Product.
If I really had to choose which of these
3 options produced the longest term income
it is this one. Your income potential is
truly unlimited when creating your own
product. No one can tell you how much you
make. You can choose the type of business
which gets you the most excited. It's your
choice. You become the master of your own
destiny.
The disadvantage of creating your own
product is the TIME involved in doing so.
You have to do the research, experience
the results, create the products, and more.
Then, you have to create the marketing
materials to go with it. It can take a
very serious time commitment to create
your own products. Many people either
don't have the time or aren't willing to
spend the time doing this.
3) Buy Reprint Rights to a Successful
Product.
A third option is to buy reprint rights
to a product which is already successful.
Then, you can get to keep ALL OF THE
MONEY. You don't have to share it with
the author in the form of royalties. Instead
of getting 20% as you would from a dealer
program, you get 100% of the money from
every sale.
This is probably the easiest way to make
maximum profits in your business from day
one. The product is already done and has
marketing materials which come with it.
It can be sold the same week you buy it
(You have to wait for it to be shipped
to you, but that is all you have to wait
for).
The disadvantage of purchasing reprint
rights to a successful product is the
cost involved. It could cost you anywhere
from $997 to $15,000 for a high quality
product with FULL reprint rights and no
royalty fees. That is a hefty chunk on
change, but I have profited many times
through buying reprint rights in this
way. You can do the same!
